Технологию видео с расширенным динамическим диапазоном (HDR) активно лоббирует американская компания Dolby, которая демонстрировала на конференции прототип ЖК дисплея с поддержкой HDR. <br /><br />На конференции Dolby демонстрировала два ЖК дисплея с разрешением Full HD, один традиционный и один с технологией Dolby Vision (с HDR). На фото слева прототип Dolby Vision, справа обычный ЖК LED дисплей, оба с разрешением Full HD. Прототип Dolby Vision имеет локальное затемнение и повышенную яркость 2000 кд. / кв. м, с 12 битным цветом и с цветовым пространством, равным 97% гаммы DCI.<br /><br />Картинка на обычном экране не может свидетельствовать обо всех возможностях HDR. Но по реакции тех, кто присутствовал на демонстрации, количество визуальной информации на прототипе Dolby Vision было намного больше, даже при одинаковых разрешениях. Расширенный динамический диапазон, в отличие от повышенного разрешения, легко отмечается даже на удаленном расстоянии от экрана.
