Во втором квартале 2007 года компании Sony и SanDisk представили новый стандарт сменных карт памяти для профессиональных видеокамер и систем нелинейного монтажа – формат получил обозначение SxS. Теперь SanDisk выпускает и один из первых коммерческих продуктов нового стандарта – карты памяти, поддерживающие высокоскоростной интерфейс ExpressCard, главной особенностью которых является возможность передачи данных на скорости до 800 Мбит/с.

Накопители формата SxS для профессиональных камкодеров


На данный момент компания SanDisk предлагает покупателям модели объемом 16 Гб и 8 Гб, на которые можно записать 60 и 30 минут видео высокого разрешения (1080p) в формате MPEG-2. Первой камерой, поддерживающей стандарт SxS, является модель XDCAM EX от Sony, причем разработчики предусмотрели и наличие второго слота для подключения ExpressCard-накопителя, вдвое увеличивая общую емкость накопителя. Благодаря небольшим размерам устройства позволят сделать профессиональные камеры более компактными, по сравнению с решениями, оснащенными жестким диском или накопителем на основе магнитной ленты.

Представленные устройства поддерживают работу также и с ноутбуками MacBook Pro и Windows-системы, естественно, оснащенных интерфейсом ExpressCard. В продаже скоростные карты памяти появятся в ноябре по цене $500 за модель объемом 8 Гб и $900 – за вариант объемом 16 Гб.
