Несмотря на то, что оригинальный фильм Tron, вышедший в 1982 году, собрал не очень лестные отзывы (68% по Rotten Tomatoes), вызвал небольшое падение акций Disney и показал не самые выдающиеся сборы... достаточно быстро он стал культовым, т.к. это был первый фильм, большую часть которого составляла компьютерная графика. Герои картины — это программы и их создатели, которые ведут борьбу за свободу двух миров — виртуального и реального, от искусственного интеллекта, вышедшего из под контроля создателей. В 2003 году на свет появилась игра Tron 2.0, ставшей одной из наиболее популярных в своем жанре за всю историю. Сюжет грядущего боевика Tron Legacy многообещающий. 27-летний технарь Сэм Флинн (Гарретт Хедлунд), сын главного героя первого фильма Кевина Флинна (его снова играет Джефф Бриджес), пытается найти своего отца и в итоге оказывается в том же самом виртуальном мире злобных программ и гладиаторских игр, где Флинн-старший ошивался без малого 25 лет. За это время вселенная «Трона» сильно эволюционировала, стала ещё опаснее, и выбраться из неё Сэму, Кевину и его верной подруге в исполнении Оливии Уайлд (та самая бисексуальная докторша из House M.D.) будет ой как непросто.
