Согласно опубликованным спецификациям, новинка, получившая название Zi8, способна записывать видеоряд в полноценном HD-разрешении 1920&#215;1080 точек при 30 кадрах в секунду, а также в стандарте 720p при 60 кадрах. Помимо этого, камера может похвастать наличием встроенного электронного стабилизатора, относительно большим 2,5-дюймовым ЖК-экраном, пятимегапиксельным сенсором и возможностью записи фотографий в формате 16:9. В качестве носителей Zi8 может использовать исключительно карты памяти SDHC вплоть до 32 Гб. Кстати, на такую карту поместится около десяти часов видео в формате HD, закодированного кодеком MPEG-4 H.264 AVC. Среди особенностей данной модели отметим наличие гнезда для внешнего микрофона, что позволит владельцу камеры добиваться лучшего качество звучания при использовании профессиональных аксессуаров.<br />Стоит также отметить, что встроенный HDMI-выход способен выводить видео напрямую на телевизор с максимальным качеством — без потерь и интерполяций.<br /><br />По заявлению производителя, модель Zi8 будет представлена в двух цветовых гаммах — красной и синей. Предположительное время начала продаж — сентябрь этого года. Рекомендованная розничная цена составит примерно 180 долларов США.
