Новая технология позволит не только выводить на стены изображения, но и использовать обои в качестве источника света. Кроме того, энергопотребление экранов на органических светодиодах значительно ниже, чем у ЖК- или плазменных дисплеев. <br /><br />До сих пор выпускались OLED-экраны лишь с небольшой диагональю. Toshiba удалось найти способ создать "решетку" из молекул диоксида кремния, обеспечивающую более эффективное светоиспускание, что позволило серьезно снизить энергопотребление. <br /><br />Разработка телевизионных обоев началась в 2008 году. Тем не менее, технология все еще находится в стадии изучения, а ее коммерческое применение начнется лишь через несколько лет. <br />
