Еврокомиссия оштрафовала тайваньские компании AU Optronics, Chimei InnoLux, Chunghwa Picture Tubes и HannStar Display, а также корейскую LG Display. <br /><br />Первоначально в подозреваемых были и Samsung с Philips. Представители компаний договаривались на очных встречах о минимальных ценах и объемах выпуска продукции. При этом договоренности в основном были устными. Вследствие этого им долго удавалось скрывать наличие картеля. Общий размер штрафов составил около 650 млн. евро.  Наибольшая сумма штрафа присуждена LG Display— 215 миллионов евро. Samsung удалось избежать штрафа за содействие следствию в расследовании.<br /><br />Подобные процессы не редкость. Пару лет назад в США по аналогичным мотивам были оштрафованы LG Display и Sharp на 585 миллионов долларов за вступление в сговор для предотвращения падения цен на рынке LCD панелей. Вследствие этого пострадал бизнес таких производителей электроники, как Apple, Dell и Motorola.
