Компания Panasonic объявила о скором появлении в японской рознице новых плазменных телевизоров модельного ряда Viera серии G2. Через две недели, а точнее 5 февраля, увидят свет три новых модели: TH-P50G2, TH-P46G2 и TH-P42G2. Телевизоры этой серии отличает без преувеличения великолепная характеристика отношения контраста – 5 000 000:1. Примечательно, что данный параметр не является маркетинговым «динамическим контрастом». Речь идёт о вполне реальном показателе.

Согласно опубликованным данным, все три новинки будут оснащены дисплеями с физическим разрешением 1080р, а также будут иметь по три порта HDMI каждый. Рекомендованные розничные цены новинок для японского рынка составят ¥320 000, ¥260 000, и ¥220 000 за модели с диагональю 50, 46 и 42 дюйма соответственно. В пересчёте на американские доллары получаем (примерно): $3500, $2850 и $2400.

Для тех же, кто готов удовлетвориться стандартной контрастностью в 2 000 000:1, Panasonic предлагает новую 42-дюймовую модель в серии S2 за сумму, эквивалентную 2100 американским долларам.
