Еще одним партнером Intel станет компания Broadcom, которая будет производить чипы, способные декодировать Full HD видео. А это означает, что у компании Nvidia с ее чипсетом ION появился первый конкурент.<br /><br />Речь идет о чипе Broadcom BCM70012, который намного дешевле Nvidia ION 2. Сам производитель описывает свой чип как PCI Express HD-декодер, способный воспроизводить 1080p и Blu-ray видео различных форматов: AVC, VCI, MPEG.<br /><br />Представители Nvidia уверяют, что конкуренции со стороны Broadcom они не бояться, так как BCM70012 не позволяет играть в более современные игры и производить вычисления с помощью GPU. Напомню, что дефолтный видеоадаптер платформы Pinetrail-M (GMA 3150) не способен декодировать видеофайлы, что и вызвало интерес многих компаний-создателей чипов к данной платформе.
