Как несложно догадаться, каждая сторона оптического носителя содержит свою версию фильма или программы. Сообщается, что основными покупателями этих комбинированных релизов станут те поклонники кино, которые пока ещё не имеют проигрывателя Blu-ray и Full HD телевизора, но собираются в обозримом будущем ими обзавестись. Задел на будущее, так сказать… Представители студии сообщили, что на каждой стороне «перевёртыша» будет располагаться не только сам фильм, но и масса дополнительных материалов. Другими словами, «гибридность» диска никак не отразиться на качестве и количестве размещённой там информации. <br /><br />Техническая спецификация диска описана, как BD-59. Согласно ей, диск совмещает в себе двухслойный 50-гигабайтный носитель Blu-ray и также двухслойный 9-гигабайтный DVD. Первым подобным гибридным релизом, выпущенным из недр Universal, станет трилогия «Джейсона Борна».<br /><br />Ожидается, что в продаже первые комбинированные диски появятся 19 января 2010 года, правда о рекомендованной рознице студия пока публично не распространяется.
