Несколько ведущих производителей мобильных систем, включая компании Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Silicon Image и Toshiba объявили о создании новой организации — Mobile High-Definition Interface Working Group. Указанная рабочая группа должна заняться определением, продвижением и распространением на рынке данной технологии как открытого промышленного стандарта, доступного всем желающим использовать его в своих устройствах, а также имеющим возможность разрабатывать новые мобильные устройства с его применением.<br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2009-09/1254306777_mhl2.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Nokia, Samsung и Sony разрабатывают HD-интерфейс для мобильных устройств' title='Nokia, Samsung и Sony разрабатывают HD-интерфейс для мобильных устройств' /></div><br />Организация Mobile High-Definition Interface Working Group будет стремиться предоставить производителям и потребителям мобильных устройств удобный и недорогой интерфейс для передачи HD контента. При этом будет использоваться единый кабель с небольшим числом контактов, с помощью которого можно будет как подзаряжать аккумуляторы портативных устройств, так и передавать цифровой аудио и видеоконтент в высоком разрешении (для видео — вплоть до 1080p).<br /><br />Кроме того, ожидается создание консорциума, чья задача будет заключаться в разработке спецификаций нового технологического стандарта. Естественно, единые спецификации будут способствовать популяризации нового интерфейса как среди производителей мобильных устройств, так и среди изготовителей мониторов и телевизоров.
