Данная микросхема представляет собой однокристальное решение (System-on-Chip) и является первым 45 нм процессором SoC на архитектуре Intel, который будет использоваться в бытовой электронике. Как заявлено, она имеет номинальную тактовую частоту 1,2 ГГц и обратно совместима с процессорами из серии Intel Media Processor CE3100 и поддерживает технологию Intel Precision View. Среди других особенностей можно отметить возможность декодировать до двух потоков видео HD в разрешении 1080p на аппаратном уровне. Более того, CE4100 Sodaville еще умеет отображать 3D графику и поддерживает самые популярные форматы видео, в том числе и MPEG-4, DivX и др. Как сообщает Intel, эта однокристальная микросхема содержит в себе встроенные контроллеры NAND Flash памяти, графическое ядро, видеоконтроллер, дисплейный процессор, контроллер ввода/вывода и др. Эти компании уже активно сотрудничают с Intel в продвижении CE4100, так как по их мнению, он обладает рядом функциональных возможностей, которые предоставят телевидению большие возможности. Среди них повышенный интерес представляют именно так называемый Widget Channel и интерактивные TV приложения, в том числе и видео по требованию (video-on-demand).
