В продаже появился один из Blu-ray плееров Sony MegaChanger, поддерживающих загрузку сразу 400 Blu-ray, DVD, CD или иных дисков совместимых типов! BDP-CX7000ES ценой в 1900 долларов может подключаться к интернету и загружать дополнительные данные о песне, альбоме, фильме и т. п. — если информация предоставлена рекординговой компанией.

Это устройство формально было анонсировано еще в июле, однако появилось в продаже только сейчас. Неизвестно, кто будет покупать плеер — во всем мире на деле не так уж много людей, имеющих по 400 актуальных дисков вообще, не говоря уже о Blu-ray.

Впрочем, CX7000ES поддерживает масштабирование видео с DVD до разрешения 1080p — используется технология Predsion Cinema HD Upscale (при подключении к телевизору через HDMI-порт). Кроме того, имеются RS232 и инфракрасный порт, обеспечивающие включение плеера в домашнюю медиасистему. Есть и 7.1-канальный аудиовыход.

Если денег у покупателя маловато, он может подождать появления модели BDP-CX960 — она обойдется «всего» в 800 долларов, однако поддерживает большинство функций, характерных для «старшего брата».
