Медленно, но верно сведения об функциональных возможностях новой PS3 Slim просачиваются в прессу. И мы всё больше узнаём о различиях между новой «утончённой» версией и её старшей круглолицей сестре. Итак, вчера нам стало известно о предположительной поддержке новинкой BraviaLink, сегодня же поступила информация о том, что PS3 Slim сможет полноценно воспроизводить такие форматы пространственного звучания, как Dolby TrueHD и DTS-HD Master Audio и передавать их на ресивер в цифровом виде.

Напомним, что чип, отвечающий за работу HDMI в текущей версии PS3, не поддерживает вывод HD-форматов, таких как Dolby TrueHD и DTS-HD MA по «цифре» в многоканальном потоковом режиме Bitstream. На сегодняшний день, декодирование звука происходит внутри консоли, а передаётся на ресивер он виде обычного LPCM.

Не исключено, что многие пользователи PS3 Slim не заметят разницы в качестве звучания, но как минимум получат удовольствие от загорающихся лампочек TrueHD или DTS-HD MA на своих AV-ресиверах.
