Будучи причисленным к серии Black Perl, новый интерконнект будет выпущен в двух версиях: с длиной в один и двадцать метров. Дилерская цена новинок составит 44.95 и 380 американских долларов соответственно. Напомним, что стандарт 1.4 включает в себя поддержку таких технологий, как HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC). Эта функция способна обеспечивать Ethernet-соединение со скоростью до 100 мегабит в секунду между основным устройством и подключенной к нему аппаратурой, разумеется, при условии поддержки ею данного стандарта. Эта технология позволит двум устройствам совместно работать с информацией без использования отдельного кабеля и способна объединить находящихся неподалеку друг от друга устройств в сеть. Кроме того, эта же технология предоставит возможность одновременного просмотра контента (к примеру, видеозаписей) с устройств, находящихся в разных комнатах.<br /><br />В новом стандарте HDMI 1.4 также реализована технология реверсивного звукового канала, известная как Audio Return Channel (ARC). С ее помощью можно передавать сжатый объемный звук через любое промежуточное устройство, к примеру, ресивер домашнего кинотеатра, без использования отдельного оптического аудио кабеля. Новый стандарт также поддерживает будущие видеотехнологии, включая разрешение вплоть до 4K (4096 &#215; 2160), трехмерное изображение и цветовые пространства, реализованные в цифровых фотокамерах.<br /><br />В случае с новинками NXG возникает лишь один вопрос. К чему их подключать? Ведь аппаратуры, поддерживающей новый стандарт пока ещё не появилось...<br />
