Судя по спецификациям, помимо обычных штампованных дисков всех трех типов, новинка поддерживает BD-R/RE, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW и CD-R/CD-RW. Помимо своих основных функций, заключающихся в воспроизведении дисков, новый плеер JVC способен проигрывать аудио- и видеофайлы, записанные с использованием следующих кодеков: AVCHD, DivX, MP3, WMA и JPEG. К сожалению, о совместимости с конкретными форматами и медиа-контейнерами не сообщается, что косвенно свидетельствует о лишь номинальной их поддержке.<br /><br />Коммутационные возможности представлены HDMI-выходом версии 1.3 с поддержкой x.v.Color, компонентным и композитным аналоговыми видеовыходомами и портом USB для подключения внешних устройств. Для аудиосигнала, помимо возможности передачи звука по HDMI, предусмотрены оптический и коаксиальный терминалы, а также отдельная стереопара на RCA. Кроме того, как и для всех современных проигрывателей этого типа, для XV-BP1 производитель заявил полную поддержку Dolby Digital+/Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD и функции BD-Live.<br /><br />Габариты устройства составляют 430&#215;54 &#215; 245 мм (ШхВхГ), а его масса — 2,8 кг.
