В дополнении к HMX-R10 и SMX-C10 компания Samsung представила новую карманную видеокамеру HMX-U10, оснащенную CMOS-сенсором 1/2,3 дюйма с разрешением 10 МП. Устройство позволяет снимать видео с разрешением 1920 x 1080 пикселей и 10-мегапиксельные фотоснимки.

Запись видео осуществляется в формате H.264 на карты памяти SDHC. Роль видоискателя играет 2-дюймовый дисплей. Камера будет выпускаться в трех цветовых решениях — темно-сером, серебристом и темно-красном. Габаритные размеры составляют 103 x 56 x 15,5 мм, вес — 95 г.

Особенностью новинки является специальная клавиша, которая активирует функцию загрузки ролика на YouTube. Согласно пресс-релизу, данная функция обеспечивает прямое соединение с сервисом и возможность размещения ролика в течении нескольких секунд после съемки. Однако посредством чего именно осуществляется соединение, не указано. К недостаткам камеры относится отсутствие автофокуса. Кроме того, не упоминается ни оптический, ни цифровой зум.

Продажи, в том числе в Европе, стартуют в сентябре 2009 г. Стоимость новинки составит $200.
