На пресс-конференции в Тайбэе, где сегодня открылась крупнейшая в Азии выставка информационных технологий Computex 2009, компания Nvidia представила 21 продукт на платформе Ion – от системных плат до миниатюрных настольных компьютеров. Среди них – неттоп Acer Aspire Revo и нетбук Lenovo IdeaPad S12. По словам официальных представителей Nvidia, Ion обеспечивает гладкое воспроизведение видео в Full HD-разрешении, позволяет играть в популярные игры, редактировать фото- и видеофайлы. В последнем случае на сцену выходят язык программирования CUDA и технология DirectX Compute. Они позволяют использовать ресурсы графического процессора для решения математических задач. При этом возможность доступна вне зависимости от форм-фактора – даже в самых маленьких компьютерах. Фактически, благодаря использованию всех этих технологий, Nvidia устраняет главный недостаток компактных систем – низкую производительность. Процессор GeForce 9400M содержит 16 вычислительных ядер. Для вывода сигнала могут использоваться DVI-D и HDMI. Помимо графического процессора в состав платформы входят аудиоконтроллер, контроллер оперативной памяти DDR3-1066, контроллер жестких дисков SATA (до 6 подключений) и адаптер локальной сети с максимальной скоростью передачи данных 1 Гбит/с. По словам источников в индустрии, корпорация Intel приступила к ужесточению ценовой политики в отношении тех производителей, которые рассматривают выпуск продуктов на базе Ion. Когда выйдут другие из новинок, представленные на Computex, в Nvidia не сообщают. Intel, в свое время, раскритиковала платформу Nvidia, сказав, что она – лишь очередное название старых компонентов. Nvidia не остается в долгу и при случае каждый раз критикует решения своего конкурента. Современные решения Intel для нетбуков и неттопов поддерживают 720p.
