Официально компания таких намерений не анонсировала. <br />Nvidia начала набор специалистов по разработке процессоров по всей Кремниевой долине. По данным издания, соответствующее подразделение почти полностью сформировано из только что нанятых сотрудников. <br /><br />Cлухи о планах Nvidia по созданию процессора семейства x86 распространяются с 2006 года. Главным препятствием к осуществлению этих планов являются юридические риски. Эксперты не уверены, что Nvidia сможет выпустить такой чип, не имея лицензии Intel или AMD, которую ей будет непросто получить. <br /><br />Недавно Nvidia представила платформу Ion, предназначенную для нетбуков. Платформа не целиком состоит из компонентов Nvidia. В частности, ей требуется процессор Intel Atom, который компания могла бы заменить при наличии собственного чипа. <br />
