В этот срок Toshiba приступит к производству портативных устройств подзарядки на базе метанола. <br /><br />Затем, после апреля 2009 г., компания собирается приступить к коммерческому выпуску топливных элементов для сотовых телефонов. <br /><br />DMFC позволяет вырабатывать электрический ток за счет реакции метанола, вливающегося в ячейку извне, с кислородом, находящимся в окружающем воздухе. Предполагается, что топливные ячейки придут на смену аккумуляторным батареям, так как предлагают практически неисчерпаемый заряд энергии – емкость с метанолом всегда можно носить с собой. <br /><br />Американская компания MTI Micro собирается выпустить аналогичную зарядку в конце 2009 г. <br />
