Компания Gartner опубликовала список десяти крупнейших чипмейкеров по результатам 2008 г. Как и в предыдущие шестнадцать лет, лидером вновь стала американская корпорация Intel, доля которой на рынке полупроводниковых компонентов увеличилась на 1,1% до $34,19 млрд по сравнению с $33,8 млрд в 2007 г. В прошлом году на долю корпорации пришлось 13,1% всех поставок в денежном выражении. Без учета бизнеса по производству NOR-памяти, отделившегося от Intel, выручка увеличилась на 6,5%, обогнав средний показатель по рынку.

Вслед за Intel идут — в порядке убывания выручки — Samsung, Toshiba, Texas Instruments и STMicroelectronics. Доля корейской Samsung сократилась по сравнению с 2007 г. на 12,5% до $17,9 млрд, Toshiba — на 11% до $10,5 млрд. У занимающего второе место Samsung отрыв от лидера рейтинга почти двукратный: доля компании составила 6,8%. Американская Texas Instruments показала и того более худшие результаты — ее доля сократилась почти на 17%. В 2008 г. компания заработала $9,79 млрд, заняв долю рынка в 3,7% и четвертое место соответственно.

Наиболее впечатляющие результаты продемонстрировал калифорнийский поставщик чипов для коммуникаторов компания Qualcomm. Ее доход в 2008 г. вырос сразу на 15%. Аутсайдер — Hynix Semiconductor (Корея). Выручка компании сократилась на 29,7%. Случилось это из-за падения цен в ключевых для компании сегментах рынка — DRAM— и NAND-памяти. Больше всех из-за мирового экономического кризиса пострадали производители микросхем именно этих двух типов, предназначенных для использования в потребительской электронике и оперативной памяти компьютеров, отмечают эксперты. На днях одна из таких компаний, немецкая Qimonda, подала документы о своей финансовой несостоятельности. В декабре прошлого года она получила €300 млн помощи от материнской компании Infineon Technologies и правительства Саксонии.
