Это позволит смотреть фильмы на полный экран без черных полос по краям, сообщается в пресс-релизе. <br /><br />Соотношение сторон экрана в современных широкоформатных телевизорах составляет 16:9, что не соответствует формату кинопленки, на которую выполняется съемка фильма (обычно 2.39:1 – стандарт Panavision). В результате в верхней и нижней части экрана возникают черные незаполненные изображением полосы. Это втягивает зрителя в процесс событий на экране, как будто он смотрит на персонажей, находясь рядом с ними. «Однако дома воспроизвести этот эффект невероятно сложно, какой бы диагонали телевизор у вас ни был». С помощью своего нового телевизора голландская компания предлагает решение данной проблемы. Даже если фильм снят в формате 2.35:1 или 2.40:1, телевизор преобразует сигнал так, что бы искажения вообще не было заметно. Это же касается и формата 16:9, в котором могут транслироваться телепередачи или сигнал с игровой приставки. <br /> <br />Длина диагонали телевизора Philips Cinema 21:9 составляет 56 дюймов. В дополнении к театральному исполнению экрана телеприемник оборудован трехсторонней системой окружающей подсветки Ambilight Spectra, а за обработку изображения отвечает фирменный процессор Perfect Pixel HD Engine. <br /><br />Новинка поступит в продажу в России в первом полугодии 2009 г.
