На фоне всеобщего экономического упадка и снижения производства в области HD-изображения удивительным выглядит тот факт, что продажи фильмов на дисках формата Blu-ray в Европе вообще и в Великобритании в частности значительно выросли по сравнению с прошлыми периодами.

По данным Futuresource, британцы приобрели около 462 500 дисков Blu-ray в ноябре этого года, что превышает показатели октября на 165%. Правда, стоит отметить, что львиную долю этого числа составил один релиз - The Dark Knight, только в первый день продаж в Соединенном Королевстве разошедшийся в количестве 107 000 экземпляров. Тем не менее, цифры выглядят впечатляюще.

За год же продажи Blu-ray-фильмов выросли в Великобритании на 396%. Во многом это связано со снижением цен как на устройства проигрывания, так и на носители. От англичан не отстают и французы - по прогнозам, доля Blu-ray на рынке оптических носителей в следующем году там удвоится и составит около 6%.
