Новый интерфейс для Xbox, безусловно, стал намного удобнее и красивее, чем предыдущий – в связи с этим, решит ли Sony изменить интерфейс для системы XMB (Xcross Media Bar), чтобы он ощущался свежо и по-новому? К сожалению, в соответствии со словами Джона Кохлера(John Kohler), получается следующее. «Крупномасштабные изменения в структуре XMB, скорее всего, не реальны, потому что существующая система была хорошо принята» - пояснил он. XMB используется в нескольких продуктах от Sony, от PS3 и PSP до систем DVR и HDTV. «Зачем менять то, что является уникальным для Sony?» Как бы там ни было, Kohler отметил, что PS3 фанаты, которые ратуют за изменения, возможно, получат их. «Если потребители постучатся в нашу дверь достаточно громко, то, скорее всего, мы прислушаемся к ним. Тем не менее, это не значит, что Sony вскоре вступит в конкурентную борьбу. «Мы сконцентрируем основные наши силы на нашем download-сервисе, в обоих направлениях: скачивание фильмов и ТВ передач. Наши усилия будут направлены именно на эту область, потому как наши клиенты хотят составлять собственный контент, свою коллекцию». Netflix предлагает пользователям доступ к огромному количеству тайтлов за месячную плату. А пользователям Sony приходится платить за каждый, отдельно взятый контент. В то время как, мы надеемся, что Sony все же предложит некий безлимитный сервис для PlayStation Store, есть альтернатива, которой вскоре можно будет воспользоваться – это крупный видеосервис Hulu(некий аналог YouTube). Главное, чтобы Sony интегрировала Hulu в XMB ...<br /><br />
