Переезд игры Alone in the Dark на платформу PS3 длился несколько месяцев, которых было достаточно, чтобы искоренить все проблемы недружелюбного Центрального Парка, воспроизведенного издательством Atari. Несмотря на то, что игра так долго выбиралась из кипы уничтожающих рецензий, посвященных версиям Xbox 360 и PC, переработанный Alone in the Dark: Inferno, все также, оставляет многих рецензентов равнодушными к вялому геймплею, который покоится под достаточно свежей внешней оболочкой игры.

1UP (B-): «Alone in the Dark все еще не избавился от проблем; никакие технические исправления в мире не смогут вытащить инертный сюжет, неудовлетворительные концовки и нелепую зависимость, связанную с использованием огня для того, чтобы убить буквально каждого противника в игре.
