Ноутбук позиционируется как первый «массовый» планшетник в своем классе. <br /><br />Новинка оборудована 12-дюймовым широкоформатным экраном rightView с максимальным разрешением 1280 на 800 пикселей, LED-подсветкой и веб-камерой. Эта модель использует мультисенсорную технологию, которая позволяет пользователям управлять своими приложениями с помощью стилуса или пальцев. При этом устройство умеет распознавать движения нескольких пальцев по экрану одновременно, что дает пользователю дополнительные возможности при работе, и «понимает» различные команды, среди которых поворот, перетаскивание, двойной и одиночный клик. Однако на сегодняшний день сенсорный интерфейс с поддержкой MultiTouch доступен пользователям только в приложении HP MediaSmart. <br /><br />По словам представителей Hewlett-Packard, HP TouchSmart tx2 является первым планшетным компьютером с сенсорным дисплеем, который разработан для массового использования. Новый компьютер уже можно заказать на территории США на сайте hpdirect.com. Цена HP TouchSmart tx2 начинается от $1149. <br /><br />HP TouchSmart tx2 построен на базе мобильных процессоров AMD Turion X2 Ultra или AMD Turion X2 с частотой от 2 до 2,4 ГГц. Пользователям доступны модели с жестким диском объемом до 500 ГБ и количеством оперативной DDR2-памяти до 8 ГБ. За обработку видео отвечает видеокарта ATI Radeon HD 3200. <br /><br />Hewlett-Packard решила отойти в дизайне новой модели от классического строгого стиля, украсив крышку и клавиатурную панель ноутбука оригинальным серебристым узором под названием Reaction.
