Последняя функция активируется после подключения плеера к интернету, загрузки и установки последней версии прошивки. <br /><br />Функция BD-Live предоставляет доступ к миру интерактивных развлечений: онлайн-играм, блогам, конкурсам и другим онлайновым сервисам. После активации BD-Live также появляется возможность загрузки дополнительных материалов о фильме, которых нет на диске, например, эксклюзивных трейлеров или интервью с актерами и режиссером. Для доступа к этим материалам необходимо посетить специальную страничку, посвященную фильму, и скачать нужную информацию на внешнее USB-устройство. <br /><br />Модель BDP-S550 обладает теми же характеристиками, что и BDP-S350, но отличается тем, что программное обеспечение BD-Live и BD-Java уже заранее встроено в прошивку, и, кроме того, в комплекте с плеером поставляется сменный USB-накопитель на 1 ГБ для хранения материалов. Кроме того, BDP-S550 имеет 7.1-канальный аудиовыход. <br /><br />Оба плеера включают возможность декодирования как Dolby TrueHD и Dolby Digital Plus, так и DTS-HD High Resolution Audio и DTS-HD Master Audio. <br /><br />Плеер Sony BDP-S350 поступит в продажу в ноябре 2008 г. по рекомендуемой розничной цене 14 тыс. руб. Плеер BDP-S550 появится в декабре по цене 21 тыс. руб.
