Крупнейший в мире производитель ПК, компания Hewlett-Packard построит завод в городе Чунцин, Китай, с целью укрепления своего бизнеса в данном регионе.

На заводе площадью 20 тыс. квадратных метров, запуск которого запланирован на 2010 г., будут выпускаться ноутбуки и настольные ПК. Строительство завода будет проходить в рамках соглашения с городскими властями и при их поддержке. Производственная мощность площадки не сообщается, но в HP говорят, что она будет достаточной для покрытия спроса на компьютеры в Чунцине и других районах Китая.

Чунцин – город, подчиняющийся центральным властям. Он находится на юго-западе страны возле провинции Сичуань. Население города вместе с окрестностями по состоянию на 2006 г. составляло 28 млн. человек.

Как правило вендоры обращаются к контрактным производителям ПК, но не имеют своих заводов в Китае. Владея своей собственной фабрикой, HP сможет сократить издержки.
