Компания Sony не собирается снижать цену на свою приставку PlayStation 3 в этом году. Аналитики из EEDAR полагают, что такая политика может стать очередной ошибкой для японского производителя. Специалисты советуют сократить розничную стоимость продукта, как это сделала конкурирующая Microsoft с Xbox 360, которая сейчас стоит $199-299.

По мнению сотрудника EEDAR, ценник в $399 всё ещё кажется cлишком большим для обычного потребителя. Хорошая линейка игр, включающая в себя такие проекты как Resistance 2 и LittleBigPlanet, ситуацию не исправит. Тем более, что у Xbox 360 этой осенью/зимой тоже будет несколько хитов, включая Gears of War 2 и Fable 2.

Sony можно понять. PlayStation 3 медленно стартовала и почти год провела без каких-либо интересных хитов. Только недавно продукт начал пользоваться реальной популярностью и догнал по продажам Xbox 360. Компания всерьёз рассчитывает на то, что вместо стандартных пяти лет, данная приставка проживёт более десятилетия. Видимо, поэтому она и не спешит со скидками.
