Как сообщил на выставке IBC 2008 в Амстердаме Matteo Altobelli, менеджер по маркетингу компании Eutelsat, ‘На данный момент мы транслируем 61 HD канал, что составляет 45% всех спутниковых HD каналов в Европе’. <br />Eutelsat передает HD потоки с семи различных орбитальных позиций. Основным поставщиком HD контента является спутник Hotbird (13°), с которого вещают операторы Sky Italia и швейцарский SRG/SRR, а также польские платформы Cyfra+ и n. <br />Massimo Bertollotti, представитель Sky Italia, рассказал аудитории, что компания изменила свою маркетинговую политику и теперь предлагает своим подписчикам HD каналы бесплатно, при условии подписки на хотя бы два пакета обычных каналов. Sky Italia собирается запустить еще два HD канала: Sky Sports HD2 и Eurosport HD. Кроме этого, оператор вскоре запустит специальный демонстрационный HD канал для того, чтобы люди смогли оценить качество картинки непосредственно в магазинах и торговых залах.
