Длина диагонали его экрана составляет 32 дюйма, сообщает physorg.com. Новинка была продемонстрирована на выставке потребительской электроники IFA в Берлине. <br /><br />По словам официальных представителей компании, телевизор втрое легче коммерческих образцов с такой же длиной диагонали — его вес составляет всего 5 кг. Это позволяет, например, запросто поднять его и повесить на стену, как если бы он был обычной картиной, отмечают в Philips. <br /><br />Создать такой тонкий телевизор удалось за счет уменьшения толщины модуля подсветки. Если в современных устройствах отображения его толщина составляет 25 мм, то в концепте — всего лишь 1 мм. «Подсветка является самой толстой деталью ЖК-панели, — рассказывает вице-президент исследовательской лаборатории Philips Фред Бокорст (Fred Boekhorst). — Теперь эта деталь стала, наоборот, самой тонкой в конструкции». <br /><br />В телевизоре использована последняя разработка Philips — тонкий светопроводящий материал, свет в который поступает с мощных светодиодов, расположенных вверху и внизу панели. Этот материал и подсвечивает дисплей. По словам инженеров компании, подсветка толщиной 1 мм может использоваться в телевизорах с длиной диагонали экрана до 42 дюймов. <br /><br />О том, когда подобные телевизоры поступят в серийное производство и сколько будут стоить, не сообщалось. <br /><br />Напомним, что на той же выставке корпорация Sony представила ЖК-телевизор толщиной 9,9 мм, оснащенный панелью с диагональю 40 дюймов. Он поступит в продажу в ноябре этого года. <br /><br />Самым тонким телевизором является Sony XEL-1 на базе светоизлучающих диодов, который продается в Японии и США. В нем не используется подсветка, и толщина экрана без учета подставки составляет всего 3 мм. <br /><br />
