Компания Samsung представила BD-P2500, новую модель плеера формата Blu-ray, отличительной особенностью которой станет поддержка Blu-ray Profile 2.0 в будущих версиях прошивки.

Плеер оборудован процессором Silicon Optix HQV для качественной обработки видеосигнала с возможностью преобразования разрешения, поддерживает Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, а также стандарты многоканального звука, не относящиеся к категории высокой четкости.

В соответствии со спецификацией Blu-ray Profile 2.0 плеер должен нести 1 ГБ встроенной памяти и поддерживать технологию BD-Live. Данная технология позволяет соединяться со Всемирной Паутиной и загружать в память плеера трейлеры, дополнительные и другие материалы.

Предполагается, что BD-P2500, помимо HDMI, будет оснащен 8-канальным аналоговым аудиовыходом. Внешний вид устройства совпадает с плеером BD-P2550, уже представленным в зарубежных интернет-магазинах.

Стоимость новинки неизвестна (для справки, стоимость BD-P2550 составляет $500). Официальный запуск плеера ожидается в сентябре 2008 г.
