Компания Dell, которая уже долгое время поддерживает Blu-ray, верит, что формат высокой четкости сможет удовлетворять потребности компьютерной индустрии и индустрии бытовой электротехники, по крайней мере, на протяжении ближайших десяти лет, благодаря увеличению емкости, дополнительным функциям и четким средствам защиты контента.

Tom Pratt, Старший технический специалист компании Dell, отмечает, что развитие формата Blu-ray очень сильно отличалось от развития форматов CD и DVD, конкуренция которых вызывала большие проблемы совместимости. В то же время на рынке еще остаются Blu-ray плееры первого и второго поколения, которые не способны поддерживать продвинутые интерактивные функции.

Многие компьютеры от Dell поддерживают Blu-ray и компания уверена в том, что данный формат отвечает всем требованиям, предъявляемым сменным носителям следующего поколения.
