PS3 – большой подарок геймерам от Sony Ни для кого не секрет, что Sony потеряла солидное количество денег на современном поколении консолей и на PS3 в частности. Напомним, консоль от Sony самая дорогая на рынке, для производства требуются так же большие финансовые вложения – всё это «благодаря» сложным и затратным компонентам – Blu-Ray приводу и процессору Cell. Во время запуска системы (фискальный 2007 год), японский гигант растратился на сумму в $2.16 миллиардов. Фискальный 2008 год , так же принес убыток в $1.16 миллиарда - сумма уменьшилась благодаря снижению стоимости производства. В сумме, компания понесла убыток в $3.32 миллиарда…и это только пока.

Астрономические суммы, которые Sony согласилась инвестировать в PS3 должны означать высокую степень уверенности в успехе. Это и подтверждают в компании: благоприятное положение на рынке напрямую влияет на рентабельность компании в целом.

Программные продукты – вот основная статья, благодаря которой живет игровое направление компании и отличный уровень продаж хитовых игр, которые появились за последние пару месяцев, придают чувство уверенности.
И стоить помнить, что другие компании идут на многое, чтобы возложить финансовое бремя на покупателей, то есть игроков. В то время как для Sony главной целью является возможность предоставить геймерам мощную систему, даже если для этого понадобятся $3.32 миллиарда.
