Продажи дисков Blu-ray растут

Согласно подсчетам американского агентства Redhill Group, с момента запуска в 2006 г. до настоящего времени было продано свыше 11 млн. дисков формата Blu-ray. С января по май 2008 г., по сравнению с аналогичным периодом прошлого года, продажи дисков увеличились в 4 раза, пишет blu-ray.com.

Данные также показывают, что за 5 месяцев текущего года было продано дисков больше, чем за весь 2007 г.

Первые строчки рейтинга самых продаваемых фильмов заняли «Я – легенда» (I Am Legend), «Поезд на Юму» (3:10 to Yuma) и «Старикам здесь не место» (No Country for Old Men). Аналитики особо отмечают, что пользователи стали больше покупать дисков Blu-ray по каталогам. Ожидается, что с выходом на BD «Трансформеров» (Transformers) и «Спящей красавицы» (Sleeping Beauty), продажи дисков увеличатся.

По данным Strategy Analytics, в 2008 г. в мире будет продано 19 млн. совместимых с Blu-ray устройств, из которых 46% составят игровые приставки. Распространению Blu-ray в настоящее время препятствует высокая стоимость. Согласно исследованию, проведенному компанией Harris Interactive в США, плеером формата Blu-ray владеют лишь 4%, в то время как игровой приставкой Sony PlayStation 3 с поддержкой этой технологии – другие 5%. При этом лишь 9% собираются купить такой плеер в течение ближайшего года.

Любопытно, что из всех владеющих HD-телевизором американцев только 55% знакомы с оптическим форматом нового поколения (год назад этот показатель составлял 35%). Многих из них качество картинки, получаемое с DVD-плеера, вполне устраивает.
