Японская корпорация Matsushita (Panasonic) намерена увеличить свою долю на рынке плазменных панелей, а также приступить к строительству нового завода по выпуску ЖК-панелей, сообщает DigiTimes со ссылкой на заявление президента Panasonic Plasma Display Shanghai (PPDS) Осакаби Акихиро (Osakabe Akihiko).

Компания собирается инвестировать 300 млрд. иен ($2,89 млрд.) в строительство нового завода по выпуску ЖК-панелей и увеличить свою долю в совместном с Hitachi и Toshiba предприятии IPS Alpha Technology выше 50%. С помощью нового предприятия Matsushita планирует завоевать 1/10 рынка ЖК-телевизоров в численном выражении.

Компания также планирует увеличить свою долю на рынке плазменных панелей, где она и так является доминантой, до 60%. В итоге до конца 2008 финансового года, согласно планам компании, ей должно принадлежать 15% мирового рынка плоскопанельные телевизоров и четверть сегмента 37-дюймовых моделей.

Наконец, компания намеревается приступить к производству электролюминесцентных (OLED) телевизоров в будущем. Ни о каких датах не сообщалось.

В настоящий момент на рынке есть лишь один OLED-телевизор, выпущенный Sony. К массовому выпуску подобных устройств планируют приступить Samsung (2009 г.) и LG (2011 г.). Светодиодные телевизоры со временем заменят ЖК- и плазменные устройства, полагают эксперты.
