На днях компания Pioneer подтвердила свое намерение отказаться от производства плазменных панелей и заняться выпуском Blu-ray и аудио/видео устройств.

В первую очередь, Pioneer собирается заняться разработкой настенных телевизоров следующего поколения с развитыми беспроводными подключениями и продвинутыми технологиями качественного воспроизведения видео и звука.

Разработки компании Pioneer будут фокусироваться и на Blu-ray плеерах , а так же других Blu-ray совместимых устройствах.
В пресс релизе также сообщается про альянс с компанией Sharp - Pioneer принимает участие в разработках акустических систем для ультра тонких плоских LCD телевизоров Sharp, которые должны появиться этой осенью.

Sharp и Pioneer также заключили соглашение, по которому компании будут заниматься продвижением вспомогательных продуктов для формата Blu-ray, таких например, как драйверы для Blu-ray плееров и рекордеров.
