Как известно, в планах компании Samsung Electronics начало серийных поставок 16-дюймовых жидкокристаллических панелей для ноутбуков, поддерживающих видео высокой четкости (Full HD), было намечено на третий квартал.

Однако, анонс ноутбуков Acer 6920, оснащенных такими панелями, внес коррективы в график поставляющей их компании, утверждают отраслевые источники.

В настоящее время Samsung — единственный производитель панелей, способный выпускать 16-дюймовые модели с поддержкой Full HD. Другие компании, вероятно, подтянутся в третьем квартале текущего года. Поскольку Acer рассчитывает начать поставки серии Aspire Gemstone Blue, к которой относится упомянутая выше модель, в апреле, Samsung, по всей видимости, перенес сроки отгрузки панелей. По данным источника, Acer планирует поставить по всему миру 200000 ноутбуков с поддержкой Full HD в течение одного только второго квартала.

Чтобы не подвергать угрозе сбыт ноутбуков с 15,4-дюймовыми дисплеями, Acer, несмотря на незначительную разницу в размерах экрана, позиционирует 16-дюймовую модель в сегмент high-end, как и вторую модель семейства Aspire Gemstone Blue, оснащенную 18,4-дюймовым экраном.
