Вопрос лишь в цене.  Наверняка каждый из нас согласится с тем, что снижение цены на плееры, поддерживающие только один формат, очень привлекательны для потенциальных покупателей, однако это не столь очевидный ход для компаний.<br /><br />  Согласно Стэну Глазгоу, президенту Sony Electronics, The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) – группа, которая контролирует стандарт BD: китайские производители все еще не  получили лицензию на технологию производства.<br /><br /> Другими словами, цены на BD достаточно высоки из-за отсутствия конкуренции со стороны Китая, не говоря уже о практическом отсутствии конкурентно-способных форматов, что также способствует удержанию цен на нынешнем уровне. <br /><br />Тем не менее, Стэн Глазгоу заметил, что на рынке появятся Blu-ray плееры китайского производства, однако для того, чтобы это произошло, необходимо, чтобы китайским производителям стала известна технология производства.<br />
