Аналитик предрекает новые испытания для Blu-ray Paul Erickson, аналитик по возможностям рынка из DisplaySearch рассказал о новых испытаниях, с которыми может столкнуться формат Blu-ray. Прежде всего, проблемы могут возникнуть при конкуренции с рынком upscale DVD плееров, ростом популярности сервисов по скачиванию HD контента и предложениями кабельных операторов. ‘Рынок наполнен недорогими upscale DVD плеерами ниже $100, продажи которых приносят компаниям большую прибыль.’ Blu-ray обошел формат HD DVD, но дальнейшая конкуренция может стать еще более сложной. Нужно помнить, что многие потребители не захотят вкладывать деньги в формат высокой четкости. Большинство потенциальных покупателей больше важны такие факторы, как удобство, низкая цена и советы друзей и коллег, которые уже сделали свой выбор.
