По сообщениям газеты The Hollywood Reporter, ссылающейся на надежный источник, компания Toshiba скоро официально объявит о прекращении использования формата HD DVD.

Неизвестный источник, близкий к HD DVD “лагерю” сообщает The Hollywood Reporter, что “...заявление компании последует в скором времени, это лишь вопрос нескольких недель...”
На просьбу прокомментировать статью, представитель компании Toshiba Джоди Салли (Jodi Sally) сообщила, что Toshiba по-прежнему поддерживает формат HD DVD. Она сказала: «Мы как и раньше считаем формат HD DVD, который обеспечивает отличное качество изображения, наилучшим для потребителей. Плееры, выпускаемые нашей компанией, помогут вам насладиться всеми достоинствами этого формата».
Джоди Салли также добавила, что компания, начав изучать рынок несколько месяцев назад, продолжит изучать его влияние на рыночную стоимость продукта в свете снижения цены на все HD DVD плееры Toshiba.
