В рамках своей трехлетней программы по перестройке производства, которая будет объявлена 14 мая Sharp планирует 270 млрд. иен в капитальных вложений до окончания  2017 финансового  года, что на 30% больше, чем в предыдущий трех летний период. Около половины средств пойдет на развитие производства малых и средних жидкокристаллических панелей, среди них панели сверхвысокого разрешения.<br /><br />Sharp ранее стремился уменьшить зависимость бизнеса от производства ЖК панелей. Но изменил свой курс в свете растущего спроса во всем мире на ЖК панели малого и среднего размера. На главном предприятии Sharp - заводе №2 в г. Камеяма малые панели составили 35% от общего объема производства в четвертом квартале прошлого года, что на 50% меньше, чем первоначально планировалось. Sharp намерен увеличить инвестиции для того, чтобы выпускать здесь в массовом порядке ЖК панели следующего поколения с высоким разрешением.
