Добавляя к разрешению 4K повышенную яркость HDR и расширенную гамму цвета, Dolby Vision обещает резко повысить качество изображения.<br /><br />Компании Dolby и Vizio уже объявили, что 65- и 120-дюймовые телевизоры Vizio Reference будут первыми моделями с поддержкой Dolby Vision. Но, сайт производителя по-прежнему рекламирует телевизоры, как "скоро в продаже", а все ссылки на цены были удалены.<br /><br />В ЖК телевизорах Reference будет использована подсветка с полным массивом локально затемняемых источников, имеется 384 отдельно управляемых зоны. Пиковая яркость деталей изображения может достигать 800 нит. Сегодняшние телевизоры, как правило, имеют пиковые уровни порядка 300-400 нит. Прежде представители Dolby заявляли о необходимой яркости в 4000, но, похоже, что планку требований понизили. Новые модели Vizio Reference должны также поддерживать расширенную палитру цвета и воспроизведение материалов с частотой до 120 кадров в секунду.<br /><br />В новом формате Blu-ray UHD также ожидается поддержка технологии Dolby Vision. Видео с поддержкой HDR вскоре появится в американских сетевых сервисах. Первыми фильмами в формате Dolby Vision станут Edge of Tomorrow, Into the Storm, The Lego Movie, Man of Steel, Sherlock Holmes и Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
