Это первая установка такого рода в США, другая находится в Торонто и открылась в декабре прошлого года.<br /><br />Новая система IMAX является наиболее передовой среди разработанных на сегодняшний день, и потребовала $ 60 млн. инвестиций. Новая система IMAX использует два лазерных проектора, в которых используются разработанные Barco технологии. Яркость достигает примерно 75 кд/кв. м, используются расширенные яркостный и цветовой диапазоны (в значительной степени те же самые возможности приходят с некоторыми телевизорами 2015 года), и звуковая система на 12 каналов.<br /><br />Новая технология проецирования предназначен для экранов размером более 75 футов (чуть менее 23 метров). Экран TCL Chinese Theatre составляет 90 футов, около 27,5 метров). IMAX сообщает, что уже продана 71 проекционная установка. Следующая будет установлена в Научном центре Тихого океана в Сиэтле. Новые фильмы для демонстрации будут проходить процесс, называемый IMAX Digital Re-mastering (DRM).
