Тогда OLED технология Samsung не смогла выдержать конкуренцию с технологией от LG. <br /><br />Согласно сообщения, теперь Samsung намерен использовать OLED панели со структурой WRGB, как и у LG, в отличие от субпикселей прямого излучения, используемых в небольших OLED дисплеях и в первом поколении OLED телевизоров от Samsung. <br /><br />Технология WRGB (белые OLED-ы с цветными фильтрами и четыре субпикселя)  первоначально была разработан в Kodak , а затем куплена LG еще в 2009 году. Сегодня LG принадлежат основные патенты на WRGB. Samsung с LG и прежде вели судебные тяжбы из-за патентов по OLED технологии. Теперь Samsung придется искать способы, чтобы обойти патенты LG.<br /><br />Конечно, мы должны помнить, что это всего лишь непроверенное сообщение. Более двух лет назад Korea Times также сообщала, что Samsung собирается перейти на производство WRGB OLED телевизоров, но этого так и не произошло. Но, может быть, теперь пришло время.<br /><br />Samsung выпустил свой первый OLED телевизор KN55S9C, еще в июне 2013 года и он продавался в течение короткого времени примерно за $10 000, а затем цена упала до $ 6000 (и даже ниже ), но Samsung вскоре остановил производство и больше не выпустил ни одного OLED телевизора. Представители Samsung неоднократно заявляли, что компания не будет возобновлять  производство OLED ТВ до 2016 или 2017 года.
