Выпуск планируется в 2016 году.<br /><br />Sony представила обновленный и улучшенный вариант первоначального прототипа Morpheus, впервые показанного около года назад. Новая модель оснащается 5.7" OLED дисплеем с разрешением 1920 х 1080 пикселей. В первом варианте был 5 дюймовый ЖК дисплей.<br /><br />Новый экран позволит обеспечить повышенную контрастность, а также заявляется частота обновления картинки 120 кадров в секунду. Это примерно в два раза выше скорости обновления большинстве  игр PS4, но Sony подтверждает выход обновленного программного обеспечения для PS4, что позволит создать удвоенную частоту кадров.<br /><br />Повышенная частота обновления требуется не только для того, не только, чтобы обеспечить точное воспроизведение в динамике, но и для того чтобы снизить риск тошноты. поле зрения теперь превышает 100 градусов, это означает, что пользователи смогут увидеть больше, чем в предыдущей модели.<br /><br />Изменился и внешний вид Morpheus. Применяется новая конструкция оголовья, что не только делает гарнитуру легче, но и более равномерно распространяет вес по всей голове пользователя. <br /><br />Цены и доступность Morpheus до сих пор не утверждены, но Sony планирует продажи в первой половине 2016 года.<br />
