В октябре прошлого года этот прогноз пришлось сократить примерно до 7,6 млн. штук. Если конкуренция обострится, ожидается, что дальнейшие корректировки выйдут на уровень чуть более 6 миллионов штук.<br /><br />По данным отчета японской Mainichi Newspaper, потери в телевизионном бизнесе Sharp, скорее всего, составят 10 млрд. иен к концу этого финансового года. Уже сообщалось о потерях завода Yaita, где производятся все 4K телевизоры Sharp с большими экранами. Испытывает затруднения и второй завод в Kameyama, префектура Миэ. Уникальное производство Sakai Display Products (SDP) с оборудованием 10-го поколения по выпуска ЖК панелей сейчас управляется совместно с компанией Foxconn из Тайваня и также имеет крупные потери. <br /><br />В пресс-релизе, опубликованном 19 января 2015 года, компания Sharp подтвердила, что общие доходы будут ниже, чем прогнозировалось 31 октября 2014 года. Причиной тому является падение прибыли от продаж в результате серьезных колебаний валютных курсов и сильной конкуренции на рынке ЖК панелей.
