Японская компания произвела "переоценку" своих приоритетов и решила отказаться от высококонкурентного телевизионного американского рынка. Выставка CES была местом, где мы могли увидеть перспективные модели телевизоров Toshiba на протяжении десятилетий. Но компания будет продолжать продажи телевизоров в Европе и Азии.<br /><br />Телевизоры Toshiba, как и других японских компаний сталкиваются с серьезной конкуренцией со стороны корейских компаний, к которым теперь присоединяются и китайские. Если Toshiba решит прекратить выпуск телевизоров, это станет продолжением неприятной тенденции по уходу с рынка видеотехники японских производителей, которые становятся жертвами ценовой политики южнокорейских и китайских игроков на рынке.<br /><br />В свое время, Toshiba играла ключевую роль в противостоянии технологий HD DVD и Blu-ray, тогда формат HD DVD в конечном итоге проиграл, а ранее Toshiba поддерживала перспективную ТВ технологию SED Canon, которой тоже не удалось покорить рынок.
