Действительно, будет представлен не только телевизор с новой технологией Ultra-D, но и новый автостерескопический дисплей Toshiba. Две разных технологии объединяет отсутствие очков для наблюдения 3D эффекта. Экраны будут автостереоскопическими, то есть в состоянии полностью автономно представлять 3D изображения. <br />По видимому, первоначально новые 3D Ultra HD телевизоры Toshiba будут с небольшой  диагональю, один из прототипов будет иметь диагональ около 15 дюймов.<br /><br />Новые экраны смогут демонстрировать 3D изображения в формате высокой четкости, а в Ultra HD можно будет смотреть обычное 2D изображение. Новый метод Toshiba основан на использовании линз GRIN (high-definition liquid crystal granded-index), позволяющих минимизировать перекрестные помехи (явление, которое происходит, когда кадры для левого и правого глаза перекрываются, создавая ложные контуры или «фантомные» изображения). GRIN линзы могут изменять уровень преломления света, в зависимости от приложенного напряжения. К достоинствам такого метода относятся сохранения яркости в режиме 3D, а также возможность сохранения качества изображений в  режиме 2D.<br /><br />Через несколько дней мы получим более подробную информацию о данной технологии, а также продукты, которые появятся в первую очередь.
