И в частности достигается более совершенная цветопередача с расширенным охватом цветовой  гаммы (проще говоря, более точная насыщенность цвета). Охват цветовой гаммы NTSC достигает 100%. Новые телевизоры TCL с квантовыми точками в системе подсветки используют  синие светодиоды, а квантовых точки позволяют получать еще два первичных цвета: красный и зеленый. <br /><br />Целью разработки таких телевизоров является возможность конкуренции с более дорогой пока OLED технологией (по крайней мере, в отношении воспроизведения цветов), пользуясь низкой стоимостью ЖК панелей с подсветки на квантовых точках.<br /><br />Телевизоры TCL с квантовыми точками компания планирует продавать и на европейском рынке. <br />
