Даже при условии, что это модель начального уровня, она отличается базовым набором функций и технологий. Есть система компенсации движения в виде 900 UCI (Ultra Clarity Index), а также поддержка самых новых стандартов UHD разрешения, а именно HDMI 2.0 (три входа) и декодер совместимый с HEVC.<br /><br />В телевизоре применен видеопроцессор Tru-ULTRA HD Engine, есть два тюнера: DVB-T2 и DVB-S2. Через порт USB можно записывать телепередачи или воспроизводить мультимедийные файлы (также поддерживается клиент DLNA). Набор интерфейсов достаточно широк: есть Ethernet, Wi-Fi, WiDi, Miracast и MHL.<br /><br />Интеллектуальная платформа 40UB800V выполнена на основе системы Netcast 4,5, обеспечивающей тот же набор доступного контента, как и в других смарт ТВ с Netcast. Система управления использует пульт дистанционного управления Magic Remote с интегрированным акселерометром, позволяющем использовать его как экранную указку. Встроенный в пульт микрофон поддерживает голосовые команды.<br /><br />Телевизору по существу не хватает лишь воспроизведения 3D источников. Самым интригующим параметром LG 40UB800V является продажная цена. Телевизор уже доступен в ряде европейских магазинов с ценами, которые часто меньше 700 евро, сумма абсолютно немыслимая для продукта такого типа еще несколько месяцев назад.
